In 2022, I entered the Fashion Scholarship Fund Case Study Competition as a Syracuse University fashion design student. The fashion design case study objective was to create a collection with an existing retailer to target the nuanced needs of consumers post COVID-19. Inspired by their collaboration in 2015, I chose Balmain and H&M as my retailers to showcase the power that comes with merging luxury and mass production. I further focused on the mental health of young adults post COVID-19, where I employed the concept of color therapy which states the impact that perceiving a specific color can have on our psyche. With this in mind, I designed a variegated collection with a myriad of different colors that would allow consumers to tailor their external appearance to their internal feelings. As a recipient, I was awarded $7,500 to advance the scope of my fashion design endeavors.
